DHA Perform

dac® DHA PERFORM is a docosohexonoic Acid (DHA) supplement that may help reduce inflammation associated with training and competition in all classes of horses. Omega 3 fatty acids include a-l inolenic acid (AlA, plant sources such as flax), eicasapentaenoic acid (EPA, marine sources such as algae), and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA, marine sources such as algae). There is NO EPNDHA in any plants like flax, chia, hemp etc. The body does not utilize AlA directly, it must first be converted to EPA and DHA this conversion rate is poor. In order to be reaping the benefits of Omega 3 fatty acids we need to feed direct sources of DHA. FEATURES

Minerals play a critical role in numerous metabolic functions including: reproduction, bone development, nerve function, immune function, hoof, skin and coat quality as well as energy balance.Yucca Schidigera Extract – Active components of yucca include steroidal saponins and polyphenolics such as resveratrol and yuccaols. Yucca phenolics also are antioxidants and free-radical scavengers, which may aid in suppressing reactive oxygen species that stimulate inflammatory responses. Antioxidants are believed to scavenge free radicals, which are thought to trigger tissue inflammation at the cellular level via oxidative reactions. Yucca has also been known for its ability to reduce ammonia (NH3) from animal waste. The Yucca Schidigera Extract used in dac® Herbal Respond is a high quality source provided by Alltech® branded De-Odorase®.Devils Claw – (Harpagophytum procumbens) is a plant of the sesame family, native to South Africa. The two active ingredients in Devil's Claw are harpagoside and beta-sitosterol. It is thought that these have anti-inflammatory properties. Boswellia Extract – Boswellia is a genus of trees known for their fragrant resin which may help support a healthy inflammatory response.
Vitamin C - Antioxidants are believed to reduce inflammation and pain by scavenging free radicals, which are thought to trigger tissue inflammation at the cellular level via oxidative reactions. Vitamin C is considered an effective antioxidant.DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Formula E and SE

FORMULA E & SeFor use in diets of all classes of horse to support normal muscle function, immune function and reproductive functionFEATURES

  • 1250 IU/ounce Vitamin E
  • Organic Selenium

SPECIAL INGREDIENTSdac® Formula E & Se provides a balanced vitamin and mineral profile to support normal muscle function, immune function and reproductive function. Adequate amounts of vitamin E and selenium prevent the detrimental interaction of peroxides with lipid membranes of the muscle cell.Vitamin E – is a fat-soluble vitamin that has an important role as a potent anti-oxidant. It has a concurrent yet independent role with selenium, an essential trace mineral. Together they act to maintain normal muscle function, aid in the prevention of muscular disease and perform as antioxidants to protect body tissues, particularly cell membranes, enzymes and other intracellular substances, from oxidation-induced damage. Horses with an inadequate reserve of antioxidants might experience poor immunity to disease, muscle soreness or stiffness during an exercise bout and prolonged recovery following hard work.Organic Selenium - Selenium is an essential trace mineral that plays a critical role in metabolism, healthy growth, reproductive health, and immunity. It also acts as a powerful antioxidant to prevent fatty acid oxidation which can cause tissue damage. Selenium also plays a role in the control of thyroid hormone metabolism. Research has shown that Sel-Plex®, an organic form of selenium, is more readily absorbed and retained than selenium in inorganic forms. Sel‐Plex® is the ONLY organic selenium to be reviewed by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration). Selenium deficiency may be a factor in causing muscle conditions otherwise known as tying-up. In young horses selenium deficiency can manifest as a condition known as white muscle disease.FEEDING DIRECTIONSdac® Formula E & Se can be fed with either fortified or unfortified grains. Fortified grains contain added vitamins and minerals. Feed dac® Formula E & Se at the following rates:Horses less than 500 lbs – Feed ½ scoop (1/2 ounce) per horse per day.Horses greater than 500 lbs – Feed 1 scoop (1 ounce) per horse per day.CAUTION For horse use only, keep out of the reach of children. Do not feed more than 1.5 ounces per horse per day. 1.5 ounces provides the maximum amount of selenium allowed by FDA to be fed per horse per day (3 mg). If combined with other sources of selenium do not exceed 0.3 ppm in the complete diet.Guaranteed AnalysisSelenium: 71 ppm (2mg)Vitamin E: 20,000 IU/LB (1250 IU)INGREDIENTSDistillers dried grains with solubles, dl-alpha tocopherol acetate (source of vitamin E), selenium yeast, cane molasses, corn oil and natural and artificial flavors.Warranty InformationMoney Back Guarantee within 60 days of purchaseTags: Special Needs

Electro Aid

ELECTRO-AIDElectrolyte Replacer - A nutritional aid for mature horses to replace electrolytes lost in sweatFEATURES

  • Bio-available Trace Minerals
  • Potassium – 3120 mg/oz
  • Magnesium – 170 mg/oz
  • Chloride – 11060 mg/oz
  • Sodium – 5390 mg/oz
  • Highly Palatable

SPECIAL INGREDIENTS
dac® Electro Aid provides a balanced profile of electrolytes for all mature horses. Electrolytes are electrically charged salts or ‘ions’ such as sodium, chloride, potassium, magnesium and calcium which are dissolved and carried in the blood and cell fluids. As salts dissolve in the blood and tissues of the body, electrolytes assist in preserving the correct balance of fluids both inside and outside the cells. Electrolytes also function in the generation of nerve impulses, contraction and relaxation of muscles, the beating of the heart and processing of wastes, in fact electrolytes are involved in virtually every function of the body. An electrolyte imbalance may cause such complications as dehydration, muscle fatigue, reduced stamina, overheating, and tying-up. It is therefore essential that electrolyte supplementation occurs as part of your daily nutritional management practices.Sodium and Chloride: Common salt (NaCl), which is composed of two ions, sodium (Na+) and chloride (Cl-). These are the major electrolytes of the body.Potassium: One of potassium’s major roles is to maintain and ensure correct cellular osmotic pressure which affects the sensitivity of nerves and muscles to impulses. Horses suffering from a lack of potassium are prone to fatigue, muscle weakness, exercise intolerance, tying-up and decreased water intake.Magnesium: Magnesium plays a critical role as a co-factor in over 300 enzymatic reactions within the body. Magnesium is also required for muscle function.Calcium: Deficiencies of calcium in its ionic form may lead to muscle weakness and conditions such as tying-up.Bio-available Trace Minerals – or chelated minerals are those that have been bonded to two or more amino acids. A mineral in this chelated state allows easy passage through the intestinal wall into the blood resulting in increased metabolism of that mineral. dac® Electro Aid utilizes organic minerals to increase availability and enhance absorption rates.FEEDING DIRECTIONSdac® Electro Aid can be fed to all classes of mature horses. The intake of dac® Electro Aid is based on work intensity and the amount of sweat lost from the body. dac® Electro Aid can be fed with either fortified or unfortified grains. Fortified grains contain added vitamins and minerals.
